When a rundown, 1917 building became the home of the American Hop*
Museum, little thought was given to its exterior.
The addition of trompe l’oeil architecture, murals and text
dignified the facade and provided a visual history of the local
Hop industry.
*Hops are used to add spice and bitterness
to beer.
